Retirement planning is something you’ve been meaning to get around to

It’s something you’ve been meaning to look at for a while. Your retirement isn’t imminent, but it is on the horizon – and getting closer every day.

The kids are growing up so fast and you want to be confident about what lies ahead. So, before they get much bigger, you want to get serious about planning your future (and theirs).

It’s not the first time you’ve thought about buying rental property

This isn’t the first time you’ve thought about rental property. There’s been more than a few late-night conversations with your partner but you’re both risk averse and there’s sooo much to understand. It's exhausting.

While there’s heaps of information out there, (you’ve probably read quite a bit online already) making sense of what applies to your situation and what doesn’t is tricky. On top of that, there’s figuring out interest rates, repayments, timelines and other hard maths. This means it often goes in the “too hard basket” because it makes your head hurt.

If property investment was simple, you would have done it already

With so much property market information to understand, coupled with your worries about the risk, wondering whether the bank will lend you the money, common pitfalls etc. it’s just easier to park it for now.

But consider this: your life is always busy, and you’re unlikely to get less busy – so putting it off again while another 6 or 12 months tick by doesn’t help you or your children. You know you need to move forward so let us help you get started.

Making rental property investment decisions is hard

Decisions, especially big ones, are daunting. A decision that affects your financial future is probably one of the biggest, that’s why you need someone to help you understand your situation, your goals and your options – then put together a clear plan on how you can get there.

At Opes Partners, this is what we do. We help kiwis (often first-timers) invest in rental properties to achieve a comfortable retirement.

What is the Opes Wealth Plan Programme?

Financial Freedom

Review and repeat at least once a year

Take the first step, a book a wealth planning session with a financial adviser

When you book your free wealth planning session, choose the financial adviser you’d like to chat with and arrange a time that works (outside office hours is fine).

The session lasts about an hour and covers:

Opes Plus Tablet LR
  • Your long-term goals and what retirement looks like for you
  • How much money you need to achieve those goals
  • How close your existing situation gets you to that dollar figure over time
  • Ways to close the gap between your existing situation and the money you need to achieve those goals

You’ll leave this session with a written wealth plan that includes which properties you’ll need to buy and when to achieve your financial goals.

Even if you’re not ready to commit beyond this, you’ll have a clear idea of the steps you need to take for the lifestyle you want in your retirement.

“I didn’t think we'd be able to afford an investment property so actually finding out that we could meant we were able to do something about it.”

  • Work 1-on-1 with financial adviser who specialises in investment property
  • No cost to you for the service but there will be other costs involved when purchasing a new build investment property

What is the cost of the Opes Wealth Programme?

The Opes Wealth Programme is free to you.

"Free? So how do you make your money?"

We receive payment from the property developer when a property is sold

“Hang on a second … Doesn’t that incentivise you to sell any type of property?”

No.

Every investment property we present to you must pass our 23-step checklist. And 76% of developers don’t make it pass the checklist.

Every single property is analysed before our Financial Advisers can present them as investments.

While the programme itself is free, there are costs associated with investing.

We are tickled pink with our new investment property and how it unfolded

Thank you Sophie and team, we are tickled pink with our new investment property and how it unfolded. You guys did really well getting us over the line as I mentioned to Lance, I’m not good on paper work.

Knew it was going to be alotta backwards and forwards but grateful for Opes holding our hands through it all - especially doing a deal on 2 at once! I think Fiona and I did well for a couple of novices. Lance and Anna were exceptional in guiding us through the process, otherwise we would probably still be sitting on the fence. I appreciated them always getting back to me with an answer pretty well anytime I rang.

Best ever experiences with property management

I recently had dealings with Opes Property Management Christchurch, and all I can say is that I received one of the best ever experiences with property management in my time of renting properties. I had the pleasure of interacting with Kim Jones, who showed exceptional care towards her work, as she struck an intuitive balance between the best interests of not only the landlord, but the tenants/would be tenants, too. I would 100% recommend renting through Opes Property Management because of this interaction, and I hope to deal with Kim and Opes again in the future.
